A word from our Director – Kamaya Sangodkar

I, founded The Pravasi in 2014 after taking a sabbatical from my retail cosmetic business, jumped in a car with two of my friends, and set out to discover the west coast of Maharashtra without using Google Maps. We'll probably never forego maps again.

I want to make it easier for you to discover beautiful and local places when you're travelling. My travel blog and city guides connect you with spots that are part of a community, so you can make new friends and try new things. I visit every single place myself and I only recommend things I enjoy doing. Localism, not tourism – it's kind of my thing. Basically, I just wanted a directory of awesome and pretty places to visit that was curated by someone I trusted (like a human, not a robot). I couldn't find anything that fit, so I decided to make it myself!

Even more, I wanted to share a way of travelling that didn’t yet exist in India – a tailored approach to planning a holiday for discerning and well-informed travellers. Our guests are looking for a more exclusive way to discover the world, with insider advice to enhance each trip.
